Lexigotchi

Game

A tamagotchi for letters. Mint them, roll them from lowercase to UPPERCASE, spell words to claim as NFTs, then keep them fed. A sibling to Let’s Have A Word! in the same $WORD economy on Base; built and tested, not yet released.

What it does

Letters are characters
Fifty-two rubber-hose tiles, one per letter per case, each animated through its own states. Every mint is lowercase, and a letter’s pull rate is its share of the 22,190 letter slots in the dictionary, so Q, Z, X and J are the chase.
A roll that can’t hurt you
Raising a letter to UPPERCASE succeeds 45% of the time, climbing ten points per miss to a cap of 85%. A failed roll never burns or downgrades the letter; it only shortens the odds on the next one.
One NFT per word, for its lifetime
Claiming escrows five letters of matching case and mints the word itself, keyed by keccak256(word). Two people can never both own CRANE.

How it works

  1. Mint lowercase letters: a free daily single per Farcaster FID, or packs of five at any time.
  2. Raise them to UPPERCASE with rolls, then claim any of the 4,438 dictionary words by escrowing five letters of uniform case.
  3. Stake a word to earn $WORD, and feed it or it goes hungry; a hungry word earns nothing and can’t win. Snacks are burned outright.
  4. Each day the game reveals a secret word from a hash-chain committed onchain in advance, so no one can steer a future answer. If that word is staked and fed, its owner takes the pot; otherwise it rolls over and grows.
  5. Phase 0 today: the app and the full Solidity suite are written and unit-tested against a faithful mock. Deploying and auditing them is the next milestone, so every price and balance in the app is still illustrative.
