The Sweeter app icon: a glossy pink bird with a candy swirl on its wing, on a sky-blue tile.

Sweeter

App

A fast, keyboard-friendly, Tweetbot-inspired face for X Pro on the Mac.

The Sweeter window on a MacBook Pro screen: four columns side by side for Notifications, a Signal list, a P0 list, and Home, each post with a row of action buttons under it, and a sidebar of column icons down the left.
Four X Pro columns: notifications, two lists, and home.

What it does

Read with the keyboard
j and k move through posts, 1 to 9 jump to a column, and an unread marker remembers where you stopped.
Columns that follow you
Columns are X Pro’s own, so adding, renaming, or reordering one in Sweeter follows you to every device. Colors, icons, filters, merged columns, and groups stay on your Mac.
Pop-outs and a palette
Open a column in its own window, view media full size, or press ⇧⌘P and find any command by typing.
Crypto in context
A contract address in a post links to its price, liquidity, and market cap. A ticker X tags, like $RSR, gets a price card under the post.

How it works

  1. Sweeter opens X Pro in its own window and draws calm, dense columns over it. ⌥X shows or hides it, so anything Sweeter doesn’t do yet is one key away.
  2. It reads the timelines the X Pro page already loads. It never sends a request of its own to X, and never reads your cookies, passwords, or tokens.
  3. When you like, reply, or bookmark, it presses X Pro’s own button for you, once.
  4. No API keys, no accounts, and no servers of its own. Settings, filters, and reading positions stay on your Mac.
  5. It needs X Pro, which X includes with Premium+, and macOS 14 or later. The app carries a Safari extension that does the same thing in Safari. It’s in early testing and free for noncommercial use.
